Centuries after King Wendle's reign over the fourth kingdom, the tale of the four who saved the nine kingdoms passed into myth. There was no longer a tenth kingdom because Wendle, being still a little forgetful, let it slip his mind to remind his successor of the magical qualitie in the mirror, so he had it moved. Upon moving the mirror, it shattered into 56 large peices. The frame remained in tact and was left in a museum on the coast of the Sixth Kingdom. The pieces, however, have been wandering through the lands and have almost all been lost. There is a new queen in the Fourth Kingdom, but she has her sights set on something bigger. Now she must seek the pieces, as she knows where to start. She sends a wolf-man after a girl who will most definately be of use to her. And there the tale begins.
((I'll need just one other character, might need to double later, but here's what I need.))
Name: Elizabeth (or you can change it) Age: About 16 Hair, eyes and skin: All portraying that she is fair. History: Orphaned at a young age and raised by farmers in Ashtown. She found a few pieces of mirror when she was younger and was certain that they could be her escape from this world when she heard the legend. She knew that she'd have to find all the pieces and sets off to do so when she runs into a poor wolf being beaten by citizens of her town.

"Oooo!" he said glancing at the picture in his dirty hands with two beady, blue eyes that had not been out in the light of day in what could have been described as centuries though was truly about six years. He was lucky they didn't just burn him and be done with it. "She's a pretty thing! Dazzling beyond comparison!" He stopped for a moment and looked through the barred window in the door at the young, female face glaring at him with red eyes. "Except, of course, maybe you, your majesty. Any relation? Sister, perhaps?" He nervously scratched his right temple with two fingers, scraping forward as would a dog. "That's not your business, my dear wolf," she said with a sweet, soft tongue as she took the picture back through the rusting bars. Her white fingers gently folded the paper and slipped in the crimson folds of her coat as the silence around them grew. She seemed to be contemplating the decision of whether or not to give this impending task to a convict wolf. "Can I trust you to bring her to me, Calyn?" "Well, that all depends," he said quickly, his breath making all his words sound fast and desperate, "do you want her alive? When do I have to give her to you? Where would I find her? Does she have a husband?" He stopped and looked at the ceiling in annoyance. "Didn't mean that last question," he muttered, slower now. The young girl smiled a rather wicked smile. A hand reached out from beneath her cloak and revealed a key. The key turned in the lock silently and the bolt slipped into place. The young queen opened the cell door and gazed through the doorway at her new errand boy. "I want her alive, and unharmed," she said with authority, "You may take as long as you need. Seek her in Ashtown, she has something of mine that I want returned." Calyn kneeled before her and swiftly placed a kiss on her smooth, white hand. "I put myself in your debt," he said, "This wolf is yours to command." She pulled him to his feet and he made one more comment. "Still, Ashtown is more than fifty miles from here, how do I get there?" "You'll find a way," she assured him, "I'm counting on you." She touched his unshaven cheek and twirled two fingers in his greasy, black hair. These movements made Calyn feel slightly wanting, but he restrained himself, as he was in the presence of a queen. "If it takes you less than three months to return my property to me, I'll reward you handsomely." There was a sound at the end of the corridor. "Now, you must get out of this prison. If they recapture you I'll not come for you again. Go." "Thank you, your highness," Calyn said, bowing his head quickly before running down the hall, opposite the voices. Not three minutes later did three prison guards turn the corner and come into the presence of the queen. "Lady Janielle," the tallest man addressed her and all three bowed. They seemed to be intimidated by her very aura. "Where is the wolf-man?" he asked, motioning to the empty cell with its door swaying on smooth hinges. "He was imprisoned on a count of murder. You know of what I speak. He's very dangerous." "Of course I know what murder you speak of," she snapped coldly, "It just so happens that you speak too much Colonel Greene. I am well aware of his charges and I assure you I had nothing to do with his escape. Perhaps you should get better locks on your doors. Then I won't be threatened by a rabid wolf again." A smaller man spoke this time, with a shivering voice. "We greatly apologize, my lady," he said, "we'll send hunters after him at once." "No, don't bother," she said, "I'm beginning to lose faith in this prison. I'll send my own royal guards after him. Perhaps it is because you are constantly worrying about things other than the matters of what goes on inside this prison that you find your grip slipping. Don't let this happen again, especially when I am paying a visit, which you know I do monthly." She walked past them deliberately and made well on her way to exit the establishment. No one stopped her, and no one dared bother her in her fake mood.
"My life is Hell today!" he shouted. Calyn's quest to Ashtown held no particular excitement—except perhaps a shave and a bath—so I'll skip ahead to where the real action started. Just as soon as he entered town, it was let slip that he was, in fact, not all man. Yet, you see, not many people look to the fact that he's not all wolf either. "Just one day I'd like to be able to have a nice stroll!" He bit at a hand that held him down. Shouts like "Bloody wolf!" and "Kill him before he kills us!" were a crucial blow to the heart. A common misunderstanding among people—and one can't really blame them for they are just common folk—is that wolves, though almost constantly thinking about their next meal, are never really that ferocious until they think they're being threatened, as any human would be. Just because there were a few maniacal serial killers that happened to be half wolf, humans just can't see that there are also a few maniacal serial killers that happen to be human. Calyn struggled as his group of captors dragged from the back of the inn he'd been in to a thick wood of trees. None in the crowd of citizens followed, none wanting to watch. "I'm not above biting!" he yelled threateningly. He growled like an animal and bared his teeth, though they were no sharper than any man's, out of complete habit. There was rope involved at some point, though he couldn't quite place the exact moment his hands had been bound behind his back. "Let me go!" he shouted. Then he thought of a different approach. He howled woefully. "Oh let me go! I'll be a good wolf!" He begged and howled, but howls were cut off by blows to his ribs and stomach and face. He wondered if they'd just kill him and get it over with. Whatever happened to being thought of as heroes? 'I guess the habit never stuck,' he thought wryly. "Oh, come on, guys! You're chickens are safe enough! In fact, plausibly safer considering! Oof, that's gonna hurt tomorrow morning." 'If I make it to tomorrow morning.'

Lizzie hated herself at the moment. Not only was she leaving the family that cared for her for all these years but she hat taken a good deal of food form the stores for winter. If she hadn’t have needed it she wouldn’t have packed it in her worn out sack, but as the case was she did and she didn’t know when she would be able to get more food. She trudged through the forest, her shoes worn out as well as her dress. It was patched, as was the cloth that held back her red tresses. Her bail green eyes scanned the floor foe snakes and other nasty critters that liked to sneak up on wanderers. A faint howling reached her ears and curiously she headed towards it, wondering what the poor creature that made such a sound was. As she neared she hurd men laugh and the sounds of fists hitting someone. Hating the abuse of anything she picked up a rock and threw it at the closest male. “Leave the poor thing alone you brute!”

One of the men that had Calyn against the ground felt the rock hit his back. Calyn had his eyes clenched tightly closed, even when he heard the approach of some one he hoped would be helping him. There was a man with a knife somewhere close to him, but no one was hitting him anymore. He whimpered quietly, like a wounded dog. "Why interfere?" a man said, "This thing is a beast and we'd be safer if we got rid of it now." The wolf shook his head, butdidn't open his eyes. "I wouldn't hurt nobody!" he muttered urgently.

Oh how lucky they all were that it was not a full moon. But I'll get into that when the time comes. The men all dogded the rock, even though it was aimed at one. "Fine!" the man with the knife said, "We'll leave him alone!" They didn't even bother to untie him as they all wanted to get away from this crazy woman. Calyn opened his eyes slowly and looked around him, though he couldn't very well get up, being that his hands were still bound.

The picture was in his mind when he looked at her and there wasn't a doubt in his mind, though the picture didn't really do this pretty lady justice. He got up after a moment. "Hey pretty miss," he said, running after her, "Can I thank you and tell you that I'm truly in your debt for what you've just done for me?"

He continued to follow her, her scent beckoning him to follow. "What's your name?" he asked. "Mine's Calyn." He began to wonder what the queen would want with her.

"Well, he said, choosing his words carefully. He wasn't sure how she'd react to him telling her that he's to bring her before the Queen. The Queen was not always a nice lady. "A wolf gets lonely somethimes, you know."

"That's okay, I can find my own food," he said, "There's never really a shortage when in a forest. It's farmlands I need to steer clear of. I'm not very welcome."
