Madeline Rosen was a loner, a social outcast. But she wasn’t always one. no not until high school. Then everything went down hill. Everyone there teased her because she had a slight limp, and her eyes were an odd color, far from normal. Her long black hair hid her pallid face, eyes red from crying. That boy, James, had dumped his soda down her back so now her black V-neck stuck to her back in a sticky mass, her black trench coat forever stained with the now dried sugar. She hugged herself and kicked a black cat that crossed her path. She normally didn’t treat animals this way, but this was the last straw. She wanted him to suffer as she suffers!

James had a good rep since school. He was very bright, but he was always outcast until one day he got up the strength to dump his soda down some random girl's shirt. It earned him some respect that someone of his...type didn't normally receive. He was an albino. The day his mother gave birth to him, his father beat her to death for his oddity. He was raised by that horrid man, but he lived through it with scars that only ran skin deep. He regretted the soda incident, but he feared he would go insane if he didn't prove the stereotypes of him wrong. Perhaps he would regret it even more. He walked the short distance from his apartment to the park.

She cursed and looked around. Black cats, breaking her mirror in her locker, tipping the salt cellar over, and dumped soda. All pointed to her misadventures. Even though he had only done this once she needed, longed for someone to blame and he was just unfortunate to be the one to snap her tolerance. It was bad enough the upperclassmen taunted her so much she stopped using that black cane she was given to help ease the pain of walking. Now she was used to it, that dull throb of her twisted leg. She saw James and scowled. How dare he come to her quiet place?

It was about sunset, but he still wore sunglasses. Behind them, his red eyes looked about to show that he was not alone. He saw some one, but didn't spare her a passing glance. His mind was focused on something else right now. He was going to do what he used to do when troubled. Stare at the stars as if they had the answer. Sometimes they did. He wondered if it was right to give in to peer presure the way he had.

Watching him just pass her and not even think about apologizing made her decide what she was going to do. It made her queasy but she wouldn’t hurt him much, just scare him and keep him tucked away for a day or so. Nothing bad, just enough to roughen him up a bit and yell at him, ask him why. She followed him silently, hoping he went towards the ever-darkening forest. There was an old cabin her Grand DA used when he wanted time away before he died. She had moved up with her aunt, who was clingy and disapproved of the way she hid one side of herself beneath the long trench.

James took no notice of her following and walked on. He passed it off as simply a coincidence of direction. His mind was wandering from thing to thing. He recongized her from somewhere, but he wasn't sure. Maybe he was some one he'd run into in the locker room? Or maybe some one he'd asked to borrow a dollar from. It never crossed his mind that this girl was the one who he had humiliated before.

seeing him distracted she bit her lip and looked around. the chance of her overpowering him were slim but one good wack and he would be sleeping like a baby. of course he would have a killer headach when her woke up. she sighed and closed the space between them and pressed the on the side of his neck, a preasure point gatrenteed to knock someone on their ass for a few hours.

He felt it and turned by instinct. He didn't get a chance to see her as his vision melted into a watery mess. He felt his legs collapse beneath him and fell to the down, not knowing anything of what happened next.

she caught him and staggered. she lifted him up a bit, grunting slightly as she grug him into the treess. aching more as she continued to drag him to the cabin she glowered with resentment untill she kicked the door opened and put him on the dusty couch, slamming and baring the door shut.

He stirred, his awareness returning. He soon felt a headached that could've cracked the wall of the Vatican. Slowly, he realized he was wbond and gagged and he looked around and saw the girl from the park and the recognition was there. He new she was Madeline(sp?). The girl who suffered from the soda incident.
