"yes....i promise."and she was gone, fliping the light of on habbit. she was gone a couple hours and came back with a pack over her sholder.

From the minute she turned the light off and left to the minute she returned James could've sworn that he was being watched by some one in particular. Not God, as most people who have this delusion put it. He looked around with his sensitive eyes and expected to see his father there, glaring at him. He was thinkful beyond belief when she turned the light back on.

He rubbed his wrists. His first instinct would have been to bolt for the door. What could she do to him if she wasn't sneaking up behind him. Deciding to stay where he was, he watched her.

she pulled out a couple bottles of water and held one out to him. feeling much calmer than she was hours ago she picked the pack up in her right hand and luged it over and sat down across from him.

James suddenly thought of apologizing to her for the soda thing. His pride prevented it. He would not let her know she got to him, though he was scared shitless that he had been kidnapped by a psychopath. "So..." he said, "Why do you limp like you do?"

He gave a silent understanding. That's an understandable reason. He didn't really get why people picked on her for that. Probably the same reason they used to pick on him for being so pale. "Different," he muttered under his breath. He took a drink of water.
