This was strange ritual. Still, he liked it. He leaned down, allowing her to stand regularly and kissed back slightly. He broke it shortly, feeling strangely light headed. "...Thank you," he said out nothing better to say.

"I'm Joe," he said. They stood together for a time, neither noticing the breeze, or the birds, or the sun falling. Joe liked her smell, and he didn't want to let her go. Arya leaned against him, listening as if she could hear his thoughts if she tried hard enough.
"Are you somewhere else?" she asked.
"No, I'm here," he said quietly, "I'll always be here." That night and for every night after, I think I can say more safely than most every other fairy tale, they lived happily ever after.
