Gore, horror, romance, comedy....do two of these fit really well together, but when Tim Burton wants something done he does it.

Ichabod screamed into the darkness that was his room. He sat up quickly and looked around, clutching at the covers of his bed. He saw the clock through the dim light that wafted in from the street. 2:32 AM. "Again," he muttered tiredly. He fell back onto his pillow with a sigh. For the last four nights he'd had nightmares that woke him up precisely at 2:32 in the morning. They depicted a murder. Each night was a different person, but always the same cause of death. Decapitation. Ichabod rubbed his eyes and laid in bed for a while. He knew what today was. Go to Sleepy Hollow and stay at the Van Tassel Manor. Murders...

There was another murder the night prior to this day. It was the mayor this time. The poor sole was caught on the road, his driver was done in as well. The murder had the whole town of Sleepy Hollow on edge, but it wasn’t bad enough to stop the Van Tassel’s from having a get together. It was scheduled for that night and almost everyone that counted would be there. Except their daughter, who they sent away to the city, out of harms way. That was just fine for Virginia. The silly girl she called a friend was spoiled in ways. She had everyone fawning over her. Not that she could blame her, she was gorgeous while Virginia was average. She hated her dusty brown hair and dark blue eyes. Her nose was too small and lips too full. Well now that everything was turned this way and that she had no time to sulk over the young men of the village. A new body was found that morning.

"No, sir, I don't need help with my bags," Ichabod said as he placed them in the coach, "There are only two. And I only need you to take me where I said, please." He had long grown tired of the city. Not the city itself, that he much enjoyed, but the people that inhabited it. The fools all had there ideas of what was the best way of punishing crime when no one thought about finding crime to punish. It was ridiculus. The coach was soon off on its way out of the city. Ichabod fiddled with a gaget of his that he hadn't really had the time to give a name. His mind was preoccupied with his nightmares. He did not reach Sleepy Hollow until well into the evening.

Virginia this evening was stanging in a circle while others took turns finding someone and kissing them. it was funny when they got someone of the same gender and they all took it to good humor. of course when she was kissed by her best friends brotherit made her flush. it was her turn. she smiled at everyone as they howled with laughter. it was louder than the rest and when she put the blindfold on she didnt catch the almost disgustd look on the guys face.

Th night was cold and Ichabod was in a hurry to find the Van Tassel Manor. He carried his two heavy bags down the road and to the forboding house beyond the graveyard. 'Why does it seem that the house I am to enter will not welcome me?' he thought to himself as he approached. He sat his bag on the porch and knocked. The door opened almost immediately onto a party of some sort. He was allowed in. He passed a table with refreshments and thought for a second to steal over and have something, but then that might be rude. He also passed a group of children playing a blindfolded game. He lingered a moment and watched.

she was twirled around a few turns and everyone scattered, leaving her alone, dizzy and unawair of the circle breaking up. so she stumbled forwards, and bumped into Ichabod."this was eazy."she muttered, pokeing him. she tuched his face and kissed him on the cheek.

Ichabod was caugth quite a bit off guard. He'd watch as the circle dispersed and wondered why they wouldn't play with her. Still, he didn't expect a kiss on the cheek from a complete stranger. He cleared his throat a little uncomfortably. "Excuse me, Madame," was all he could mange as a greeting.

she pulled the blindfold off and looked around. her neck and cheeks colored."i-i'm sorry, please forgive me." she stammered, stepping back. she glanced around and sighed, shoulders slumping. of course.

"No, it's quite all right," he said. His cheeks were slightly flushed. "I'm looking for Master Baltus van Tassle." Ichabod had the silly thought for just a second that he wasn't going to mind staying in this town all that much. Then he looked over at the girl. She was homely, but not so much that he could understand why the others left her.

"Um...well, I'm not quite a doctor," he muttered to himself as he followed her. "Thank you," Ichabod said.

"your welcome."she said, bowing slightly before retreating to a corner where a book lay on a table. there she sat and read, shutting everyone out of her bubble.
