Why is the title French? The same reason that all the germans in the movie have British accents....

"Ow..." Jacob muttered as the carriage went over another bump in the uneven road. His little--and I stress LITTLE--cage gave him just enough room to have his knees against his chest and his elbows bent at his sides, not to mention it was on a chain to it swung violently from time to time. Next to him was his brother, in much the same predicament. It was probably Will's fault, and Jake could've figured out ways to blame him, but currently, his rump hurt too much. His glasses were slowly sliding down his nose, leaving his blue eyes completely near-sighted. He thought he was going to lose it at one point. Not his glasses, stupid, his mind. He was a professor at one point, then his brother dragged him into the more shady of businesses and now he was locked in a tiny cage in a rickety carriaged on his way to Marbaden to help find children that were probably a lost cause anyway just in exchange for his life...Was it really worth it? When the trip finally came to an end and he and his brother were dragged from their cages, Jacob was almost too overjoyed to be on solid ground...until he fell face-first onto the cold, wet earth.

Will toppled next to him, only landing on his knees. his legs had cramped somewhere on the road and now it hurt to stand. not that he would complain of course. he simply grunted and strugled to his feet, pulling his brother up and smirking at the sight of a messy jacob when he was normaly prim and proper."you got a little dirt on your nose"he said snickering

Jake took a bit of dirt in his hand and flicked it half-heartedly at his brother. He knew how good Will was at taunting. It was better not to say anything at times. Especially when your legs aren't obeying you. He shrugged his coat straight around his shoulders and righted himself as best he could. "Thanks, Will, I think I can take care of my own nose," he said with a smile.

he gave him a sausy look and stumbed around in a circle untill his legs regained their normal ways."no problem bro. im sure you can take care of it, just dont let it fall off while you scrub your face clean."

Jake rolled his eyes and stretched to warm up his sore muscles. "Whatever you say, bro," he said, when he was really thinking: 'Am I related to this ass?' He looked around. "This place looks rather empty," he commented as he looked around. There wasn't a soul to be seen.

"woooohhh"he said wiggling his fingers at him and twiching his arms."maybe its haunted."of course he knew it wasnt. why else would they be there to help look for wee little girlies? "better keep an eye out. dont want to find some man with magic beans."

Jacob heistated and swallowed a horrid remark that wasn't meant to pass between brothers. "I'd perfer the bean-peddler to you about now, dear brother," he said, "Shouldn't we try to find some one?" He looked around and opened a window and came face to face with...well, face to barrel with a rifle.

will smirked and peered at the guns owner."we mean you no harm, were here to help find the missing girls..."that should do the trick. he was always saveing hes brothers back. one day he expected jake to repay the favor.

Slowly but surely other faces appeared at windows and Jake, who had been baking away from said rifle now found himself feeling quite vunerable being surrounded by all the villagers. The man with the gun had disappeared for a second and then come out of his house. "Who are you?" he asked, raising the gun yet again. Jake whispered to his brother. "You're good at introductions Will." he said.

It took a while for Jacob to really hear him. "Perhaps I was wrong," he muttered. The man with the rifle looked thoughtful. "The Brothers Grimm?" he said, "Well, you're most welcome then." He lowered his gun and motioned for the villagers to come out of their homes. "You truly come to help use find our children?"

"We'll see that you have the best accomodations our town has to offer," the man said with a bow. Jacob sighed. "You know, I never though people would actually buy your rubbish," he whispered to his brother once the man had gone off to talk with his neighbors.
